So in honor of all the brave men and women who have served our country throughout the years, I decided to go on a march of my own on Memorial Day. Of course the real reason why I was going was because it was a beautiful day out and my friend wanted to go with me. We didn't really have a set goal in mind when we headed out on our journey. I was hoping to do about 7 miles yesterday because according to my watch that distance would burn 1000 calories and I've yet to hit the 1000 calories mark. Unfortunately around the 2.5 mile mark, my friend said he wanted to turn back because he was having an issue with something in his shoe stabbing him in the toe. So the walk ended up being a nice 5 miles which was great. Plus there were 4 different hills we had to go up and that was great. And I really didn't feel all that winded which was awesome. The only time I had a little problem is when we decided to run for a bit and right after that run was a steep hill. So that was a good challenge. Other than that I honestly felt like I could have gone for a lot longer had my friend not hurt himself. I might try for the 7 mile mark tomorrow or Thursday possibly. I think it would be a great goal to accomplish before I go out of town for a few days.

Nice work. Did you friend consider taking off his shoe and investigating the stabbing? Any interest in including a link to the Garmin file like this:

or would that be too invasive?
Anyways, keep up the great work!
Hey A-Dub. My friend did investigate his shoe. There was a plastic piece from the shoe sticking out inside the shoe and it was poking him. I've purposely decided not to include my routes because they all start at my apartment and I'm trying to keep that sort of info off of the site.
