Yard Workout

So on Thursday I decided to forgo the usual gym workout and instead spend my time burning calories out in my Aunt's yard. She's still recovering from a car accident back in February, so I went up to visit her and do some work around her house. I got really lucky because the weather on Thursday wasn't as hot as it could have been in her neck of the woods. But I was out there working for her for about two and a half hours. It was a great way to get a workout in and I had an opportunity to help out an Aunt in need. I also learned a few things about myself as well. One, I'm a bad-ass weed whacker! I mean I'm not going to pro anytime soon, but I probably could if I wanted to. Even though I spent a lot of time fighting with my Aunt's weed whacker because it kept wanting to stop working and the cord in it needed to be changed a lot, I still kicked that yard's green butt and I know she appreciated having me out there to do the work for her, so that's cool too. Second, I learned that I keep forgetting to wear jeans when I go to do work for my Aunt. If you've never weed whacked a yard without jeans on you're lucky. Let's just say for time's sake that the cord on the whacker has the tendency to spit a lot of material out. Everything from grass to small rocks that may be in the yard. And everything it spits out hits your legs. I was a bit cut up when I left, but that's what happens when you refuse to learn lessons. Hopefully next time I remember to wear jeans. Anyways, Monday, I'm getting back to my regular gym and walking routine and hang up my weed whacker until my Aunt's yard gets out of hand again.
